Cross Training

This is my first month of running and it’s been good with the relative warming of spring. The ice has cleared from the lake this week so nature and I are on a roll. For some inspiration I just got the May 2011 “Runner’s World” magazine. The issue is a Special Beginners Guide. What I found invaluable is that the guide really speaks to most everyone at any level of fitness. Furthermore, the guide takes a step towards motivating us away from a sedentary lifestyle. Small steps and methods to cross train. Just insert biking or walking and you get the idea. I recommend rushing out and buying this issue for your library or click on the link for instant gratification. The personal story’s are inspiring. Learn new stuff about your body and nutrition. See how a mentor could help get you started towards goal setting. This guide reinforces how simply moving our bodies remains the most important factor for good health and wellbeing. Reading about Clarence Hartley is worth the time to look at the magazine. Time to lace up and get out there. Our public space remains the most important arena for social change.
